mercor tecresa® has participated in the structural fire protection of the expansion of the Clínica Alemana S.A. located on Av. Manquehue Norte. 1410, Vitacura, Santiago de Chile, Chile.
What does mercor tecresa® bring to the project?
The project required the supply and installation of our fireproof mortar TECWOOL® F in order to provide the metal pillars and beams with a fire protection of R 120, equivalent to an F 120 according to Chilean regulations.
In accordance with the General Ordinance of Urban Planning and Constructions that requires metal structures to have a degree of bearing capacity in the event of fire, for which an adequate protection system must be installed.
TECWOOL® F is a sprayed mortar made of rock wool and cement, manufactured by mercor tecresa® and specifically designed for the fire protection of all types of structures and walls that are under construction.
Our product, in addition to providing great fire resistance, TECWOOL® F rock wool mortar has exceptional characteristics in terms of sound absorption and acoustic absorption in a reverberant chamber.
Finally, it is important to highlight, its thermal conductivity value makes the mortar act as an excellent thermal insulator.
TECWOOL® F has been tested in official laboratories accredited by ENAC or similar international entity and under EN/European regulations, which have been assimilated under Chilean regulations, it allows us to comply with all local regulatory requirements; therefore, the TECWOOL® F mortar metal structure protection solution has been certified under Chilean standard NCh 935/1.

This operation has been done under the supervision of our local partner in Chile, SYNIXTOR CHILE for the construction company VHT. Clínica Alemana S.A. is a Chilean private health facility. It is located in the commune of Vitacura in the eastern part of the city of Santiago de Chile.
Together, these buildings have 400 beds, 22 surgical pavilions and 202 thousand built sqm. In addition. Its facilities offer the expertise of more than a thousand medical specialists.
