Fireproof Tecbor® Board in Al Wakrah tunnel (Qatar)
The Al Wakrah Tunnel, opened for commuters at the end of 2018, is located between Doha, capital city of Qatar, and Al Wakrah. It is a 160-metre long tunnel with four lanes included in a project to reduce traffic and improve the connections among the capital, the Hamad international Airport and the Al Wakrah subway station, which is placed just over the tunnel.
mercor tecresa® has participated in the construction of the tunnel with the installation of passive fire protection systems by supplying 11.102 m2 of our fireproof Tecbor® Board (24 mm). It provides a fire resistance of 120 minutes, under the RWS fire curve for tunnel protection.
